Janice P. McMahon - Professional Experience

Janice McMahon is the Regional Technical Manager for the Forestry, Carbon and GHG Services Division of ESI, with over 12 years of experience.

Ms. McMahon specializes in greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction/removal projects, development/implementation of management plans for enhancement of carbon stocks, assessment of GHG emissions and reductions, development of carbon and environmental asset tracking programs, and GHG validations and verifications. She is also a CSA Certified GHG Verifier and GHG Inventory Quantifier, and TWS Associate Wildlife Biologist.

Ms. McMahon was instrumental in establishing ESI as an authorized GHG validator/verifier for the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), Voluntary Carbon Standard (VCS), Climate Action Reserve (CAR), American Carbon Registry (ACR), CarbonFix Standard (CFS), Pacific Carbon Trust (PCT), and Climate Community, and Biodiversity Alliance (CCBA). Ms McMahon led ESI through the process of receiving accreditation from American National Standards Institute (ANSI) under ISO 14065:2007 for greenhouse gas validation and verification bodies.  The scope of accreditation includes ISO 14065:2007, ISO 14064-3:2006, and verification/validation of assertions related to greenhouse gas emission reductions and removals at the project level for Land Use and Forestry (Group 3).   

At ESI, Ms. McMahon is responsible for leading the Forestry, Carbon, and GHG Services Divisions, which includes client and team coordination, proposal preparation and review, marketing presentations, and quality assurance and quality control for all domestic and international GHG projects. Ms. McMahon also leads lectures and seminars throughout the United States and internationally regarding the carbon markets and opportunities and GHG validation/verification. Ms. McMahon holds a B.S. from the University of Florida, Department of Wildlife Ecology and Conservation and a M.S. from Auburn University School of Forestry and Wildlife Sciences.
