Forestry Division



Environmental Services, Inc. (ESI) Forestry Division provides comprehensive, turn-key land management services for clients interested in developing resource-based revenue, improving ecological habitat, or meeting mitigation requirements for environmental impact permits

Staff members are qualified as Certified Foresters (Society of American Foresters), Certified Prescribed Burn Managers (Florida), and Certified Arborists (International Society of Arboriculture) and forest carbon validators and verifiers. We have positive relationships with timber management companies, wood dealers, land conservation groups, and government agencies at the federal, state, and local levels. ESI is also active in the development of ecosystem service credits from carbon sequestration, water quality improvement, and wildlife habitat improvement.

We maintain a comprehensive familiarity with forest management techniques and assessments throughout the United States, and have provided consultation on projects throughout the Americas, including Brazil, Chile, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and Guyana.

The ESI philosophy and technical approach stresses experience, technical competence, communication, and, above all, responsiveness to the needs of our clients. We strive to identify potentially complex issues before they become problems and to assist our clients in understanding and dealing with all aspects of their project needs.

Acott Sager Scott Sager, Forestry Division Manager

Scott Sager is a forester with training and experience in the management of a wide variety of natural resources. He has experience conducting 3rd-party verification/audits of carbon sequestration projects on over 150,000 acres located across the United States, Brazil, and Chile. In addition, Mr. Sager has experience throughout the southeastern United States in carbon sequestration project development and management, timber management, prescribed fire, forest restoration, plant identification, and the measurement and statistical analysis of a wide variety of forest resources.

Within ESI, Mr. Sager’s responsibilities include conducting 3rd-party verifications/audits of carbon sequestration projects through the Chicago Climate Exchange, the Voluntary Carbon Standard (AFOLU), and the American Carbon Registry. More broadly, he is responsible for meeting client objectives in the fields of timber management, prescribed fire, wildlife habitat management, and arboricultural assessments.
