In order to assist the City of Jacksonville’s Municipal Code Compliance Division with the demolition of structure deemed unsafe and hazardous, ESI’s Site Assessment and Remediation Division completed an asbestos survey of the property at 901 North Main Street. This site is occupied by a 5-story former hotel facility (The Parkview) with an enclosed parking garage constructed in 1966. |
The concrete block and poured concrete structure comprises approximately 90,700 square feet and the parking garage an additional 62,800 square feet. More than 120 building material samples were collected from representative asbestos-containing areas; all samples were analyzed by a NIST accredited laboratory using PLM with a standard turnaround time of 5 days; a written report was prepared under the oversight of a Florida Licensed Asbestos Consultant in order to quantify asbestos containing materials for abatement activities during demolition.
