The purpose of the survey was to study the indoor environment of the residence to ensure that it was within comfort level for the building occupants, and to make recommendations for any repairs to improve the air quality. During our investigation, the visual inspection and sampling data obtained indicated some deficiencies in the HVAC system and building environment that warrant correction. |
IAQ parameters including Carbon Dioxide, temperature, and relative humidity were compared with American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) standards. The visual observations included inspection of the HVAC components such as supply vents, air handlers, blower fans, condensation pans and duct work; and, indicators of water intrusion and fungal growth.
It was determined that excessive fungal spore concentrations were a result the observed mold growth in the house. Appropriate recommendations were made for remediation using a certified contractor and post-remediation mold clearance samples to determine the effectiveness of remedial actions.
